Johannes-Hospiz
Establishing

On 12th July 2001 this non profitable charitable foundation with legal capacity was established in support of the Johannes-Hospiz in Münster by two Münster citizens. This was done on the basis of the realization that the general experience and the legal situation as it is today have shown that the hospice is not able to cover itself financially now or in the future.

Purpose

The foundation’s purpose is to contribute to cover the hospice work consisting of accompanying the people to die and holding their dignity till they pass away.

In §2 of the foundation statutes it says:

1. The foundation has exclusively
and directly charitable aims.

2. Its purpose is to support the care for the elderly, the public health system and to encourage the selfless support for persons whose physical, mental or psychological condition requires care. This includes the apply for means according to §58 clause 1 and 2 AO for other tax-deductible corporations which aim at supporting these helpless people.

3. The purpose of the foundation is put into effect in particular through furthering the proceeds on the interests to the Johannes-Hospiz for the care and the accompanying of the people to die.

4. The means of the foundation may only be used for purposes as according to the statutes. The founders and their heirs don’t receive any contributions from the foundation means.

Durability

The city of Münster has made a good experience with the durability of foundations. Numerous foundations here date from the 14th century and still continue to comply consistently with the foundation’s purpose. These foundations have come through all political and financial troubles.
We wish this hospice foundation the same durability and long effectiveness.

Your security

In order to preserve the foundation’s capital and to further the undiminished amount of interests to the Johannes-Hospiz all foundation work is run by a honorary staff.

§4 of the statutes:

1. The returns on the foundation’s capital and the donations are to be used in compliance with the foundation purpose.

2. No one may be favoured by expenses which are not in compliance with the foundation purpose or by an excessively high payment.

Additional foundations are tax-deductible to an annual amount of 40.000DM (corresponding amount in Euro). Higher amounts can be spread over 5 years.
